APCO P25 Digital Trunked Integrated Voice and Data system is part of Motorola’s comprehensive radio solutions using 25 KHz or 12.5 KHz (narrowband). It has been designed for military, public safety, oil and gas, regional coordination and incident commander. The system allows extend capacity, coverage through IP, E1, satellites transmission ... to help connect communications to everywhere.
APCO P25 TRUNKED RADIO SYSTEM SOLUTION
APCO P25 Digital Trunked Integrated Voice and Data system is part of Motorola’s comprehensive radio solutions using 25 KHz or 12.5 KHz (narrowband). It has been designed for military, public safety, oil and gas, regional coordination and incident commander. The system allows extend capacity, coverage through IP, E1, satellites transmission ... to help connect communications to everywhere.
Integrated Voice & Data – The system has the option of Integrated Voice and Data (IV&D) capability with ability to support both voice and data traffic on a common infrastructure. The system is a fully digital trunking system based on latest vocoding technology. Digital voice transmission ensures better audio quality and coverage performance.
High Power Output - APCO-P25 which allows higher RF power output (more than 100 Watt for digital repeater). The bigger the RF power output, the larger the coverage area. The high power output and large coverage area will benefit users in a country with large and spread out geographical terrain.
Site requirements - Coverage area of a base station will also affect the number of sites that will be required. In general, to cover the same area, APCO-P25 infrastructure requires much lesser sites compared to other digital standard. With lesser number of sites deployed, it will significantly help to reduce the recurring cost to operate sites such as monthly cost for leased line, monthly cost for site rental, tower maintenance, microwave maintenance, electricity and utilities cost, etc.
Backward Compatibility with Analog - APCO-P25 radio allows backward compatibility with analog radios. As such, APCO-P25 will allow smooth migration from analog system to digital system that without interrupting user work.
Mixed Trunk and Conventional in One Network - APCO-P25 allows a combination of conventional and/or trunking system in one network. Combination of conventional and trunking will bring benefit for user especially users with large spread geographical condition. Conventional system can be used in the area that yet need high capacity while trunking system can be used in the area that need high capacity.
Flexible (Scalable) System Design - The modular design of P25 provides scalability in handling the needs for future expansion.
Centralized System Management - The P25 trunking systems ease operation and management through the use of a network management user interface based on the Microsoft Windows® environment.
DIAGRAM OF APCO P25:
Mobile Switching Office (MSO)
MSO is the center for handling calls, subscriber authentication, providing services, increasing features and the ability to connect to other information systems such as PAGA, Telephone, Voice recording, etc. Some features typically MSO can provide such as subscriber management (registration, authentication, lock / unlock), dispatching center (group call monitoring, emergency call handling, etc.), creating group federations, dynamic group
Network Management Terminal (NMT)
The Network Management (NM) Terminal workstations are commercial personal computers that run the Microsoft® Windows Operating System (OS) for network computers. Authorized system managers or network administrator personnel use the client PC workstations to start and run the software applications for configuring, viewing equipment operational status, and monitoring network utilization and performance.
Dispatch Control
The Dispatch Console can be configured with multiple trunking and conventional resources and can monitor multiple talkgroups concurrently. The dispatch console is able to initiate a call to any talkgroup that it is currently monitoring. Another important feature of the console is the handling of emergency calls.
The APCO-P25 release transport core is engineered to meet the performance requirements of a real time system transporting voice, call control, network management, and ancillary network services. It included:
Ethernet Core (LAN) Switch
The Enterprise Ethernet Switch (LAN Switch) is used to aggregate all the Ethernet interfaces for all servers, clients, and routers. The Core LAN switch is the main Ethernet switch used to interconnect all the system elements in the Core Subsystem.
Core Router (CR)
The Core Routers route all control, audio, data and network management traffic in and out of the Zone. The number of core routers depends upon the number of channels in the zone
Core Backhaul Switch
The core backhaul switch provides link aggregation points for the network from Remote sites to Core Router.
Border Router
The Border Routers provide interfaces to the Motorola Radio Network Infrastructure (RNI) to extend the DMZ. It demarcates the point between internal ASTRO25 Motorola networks towards external customer network.
ASTRO 25 base station provides radio communication for subscribers. GTR8000 is the new generation APCO-P25 radio base station, providing wide coverage and excellent voice and load handling capabilities.
The above is a typical solution of the APCO P25, we – NT can customize a lot of configurations according to your need and budget.
